This is a cover illustration for my friend Elizabeth's roleplaying game It's Complicated. It's a game about "people who are psychologically broken in really charming and interesting ways", which this is meant to illustrate. I tried to include some good variation in body types, ethnicity and expressions to keep away from classical rpg illustrations and create a wider appeal for the game.

I think the picture goes well along with the idea of complicated relationships.

Since advanced critique is encouraged I'd have to say the angular composition and stiff anatomy ruins the picture a bit. I think more use of curved bodies and anything diagonal on the picture would've made the picture much more dynamic. If you wanted more dynamicity (is that a word?) then I would suggest portrayal of a pillow fight.

Thanks for your comment. I'd probably go for something at least a bit more dynamic normally, but this time I had a specific request with a photo to go by. It was picked to fit with a specific cover idea, so it had to be this, with that many characters crammed onto one bed.

A pillow fight sounds like too much conflict, and it easily becomes stereotypical. I wanted something more subtle.
